Material characterization

Kennwertermittlung an ElastomerprobenDYNA-MESS test machines are used to determined static and dynamic properties of elastomer and rubber components.

Static properties

  • Statics characteristics
  • Hysteresis
  • Stiffness at different operating points
  • ....

While a traction/compression test is performed, all data are continuously recorded. The characteristics of the tested material are automatically calculated by DYNA-MESS software and are presented in a report.

Tolerances can be defined by the user for different parameters as force and displacement. This allows to stop the test if some irregularities occur during the test or a certain value is reached.

Dynamics properties

The following parameters can be determined:

  • Dynamic stiffness
  • Loss angle
  • Strength loss
  • ...

For dynamic testing, the material is subjected to a dynamic load and the following test parameters can be set by the user:

  • Load amplitude
  • Load frequency
  • Waveform
  • Oscillating point

During a dynamic test, the displacement and the force values are recorded and used to calculate the properties of the material. Different calculation methods are available as the Hysteresis curve determination.
