FAQs about DYNA-MESS universal testing machines
What are DYNA-MESS universal testing machines?
DYNA-MESS universal testing machines are versatile test stands that can be configured for a wide range of testing purposes, such as material and component testing across many industries. Thanks to different frame designs, drive types and software functions, they adapt to almost any general mechanical testing task.
Which frame designs are available?
DYNA-MESS offers compact table-top machines as well as classic vertical testing machines with 2-column or 4-column load frames. The vertical machines can be built with the actuator mounted at the top or bottom to accommodate different test setups and specimen sizes.
Which drive types are available?
Universal testing machines are available with servo-hydraulic, servo-pneumatic or servo-electric drives. This lets you select the ideal drive for your required force, dynamics, energy efficiency and precision.
Which types of tests can be performed?
With universal testing machines you can carry out tensile, compression and bending tests on a wide range of materials, components and finished parts. Depending on the configuration, both static and cyclic or dynamic tests are possible – for example for service-life, functional and material-property determination.
In which industries are universal testing machines used?
The systems are used in general materials testing, construction, the automotive industry, the consumer-goods sector as well as in research and education. Typical applications range from tests on metals, plastics and building components through to parts from consumer products.
Which services does DYNA-MESS offer?
DYNA-MESS provides comprehensive services: maintenance and inspection, calibration, modernisation and retrofits, repairs, software updates for performance enhancement, accessories and upgrades, and user training for DYNA-MESS test systems.
Are universal testing machines also suitable for dynamic fatigue testing?
Yes. With servo-pneumatic or servo-hydraulic drives, our universal testing machines perform cyclic fatigue and endurance tests – from low-cycle to high-cycle fatigue. The servo-pneumatic drive reaches test frequencies of up to 35 Hz at test forces of up to 20 kN and offers control quality almost identical to hydraulic systems – at significantly lower operating costs and faster amortisation. You get the most economical drive technology for your testing task.
Which standards are covered by universal testing machine tests?
Our universal testing machines support tests according to ISO 7500-1 (force-measurement system) and ISO 14801 (dental implants) as well as the ASTM standards F1717 (spinal implant constructs, vertebrectomy model), F2077 (intervertebral body fusion devices), F382 (metallic bone plates, four-point bending) and F2193 (components for spinal systems – screws, plates and rods). Further standards are implemented on a customer-specific basis.
