    Self-supporting sandwich elements according to EN 14509

    The requirements for sandwich elements (panels) are described in DIN EN 14509: “Self-supporting sandwich panels with metal facings on both sides – Factory made products – Specifications”.

    Standardised testing and automatic determination of characteristic values

    The standard specifies the requirements for prefabricated self-supporting sandwich insulation elements with a metal facing on both sides, which are intended for overlapping installation in the following applications:

    • Roofs and roof coverings
    • Exterior walls and wall panelling
    • Walls (including partition walls)
    • Ceilings inside the building

    The insulation core materials covered by this standard include rigid polyurethane foam, expanded polystyrene, extruded polystyrene foam, phenolic resin foam, cellular glass and mineral wool.
