    Static characteristic curves and dynamic characteristic values

    DYNA-MESS torsion test rigs enable both static load tests up to breakage and dynamic fatigue tests to determine service life. Vibrations can be superimposed on static moments in order to simulate operating conditions. The test benches are also used to determine characteristic values, including the static torsion curve, hysteresis, stiffness at various operating points, dynamic stiffness, loss angle and damping energy.

    Complex test systems for development can be equipped with several superimposed drives if required by the application of the component to be tested. For example, systems with selectable, constant drive speed, to which a vibration load and additional slip between the input and output side is superimposed, have been realised. Classic torsion test benches or torsion test benches with superimposed axial loading are also possible.

    Test frame

    The machine frames are designed as a 2- or 4-column construction and are characterised by maximum machine rigidity. They are therefore ideally suited for static and, in particular, dynamic tests.

    Drive types

    The most suitable drive types are used depending on the individual testing requirements of our customers. In addition to the desired nominal force and the required dynamics, aspects such as component behaviour and ambient conditions also determine the selection of the right drive.


    Performance capability

    With servo-pneumatic, servo-electric or servo-hydraulic drive concepts, we cover a wide range of requirements. The nominal forces range from 10 kN to several meganewtons.

    In addition to the machines for purely static testing, variants for low cycle fatigue tests (LCF) for test frequencies up to 10 Hz and for high cycle fatigue tests (HCF) for test frequencies up to 100 Hz are available.

    A special version for high-frequency tests is the V2H 10 HCF+ version, which enables tests with frequencies of up to 500 Hz.

    Tension Torsion version

    Tension Torsion describes a combined test specimen load from a linear drive and torsion unit.
    Two different configurations are possible:

    • Biaxial test specimen load from one side
    • Biaxial test specimen load from different sides (one axis in the crosshead and one axis in the machine base)

    Electric, pneumatic and hydraulic versions are available.

    Test fields

    Great flexibility can be achieved through the use of test fields. In addition to mobile hydraulic, electric and pneumatic test axes, DYNA-MESS supplies all power, control, electronic and software components. In particular, multi-axes systems can be realised, whereby the various axes can be flexibly set up and combined by the customer for the respective testing application.

    For testing very large components, DYNA-MESS offers large systems with up to six test axes. Nominal forces of up to several meganewtons per cylinder and up to several metres of stroke can be achieved. In addition to static, destructive tests, dynamic fatigue tests can also be realised.

    Test frame up to 12 MN test force and 40 m length

    DYNA-MESS has built testing machines with lengths of up to 40 m and a dead weight of up to one hundred tonnes. Forces of up to 12 MN can be realised.

    Standardised testing

    For standard-compliant testing of safety-relevant components, the tests can be displacement or force-controlled depending on the requirements. The digital machine control ensures that the test conditions (maximum load, test speeds, holding time, strain values, etc.) are precisely adhered to. The test is carried out automatically via special software modules that are created in accordance with a wide range of standards. Depending on the design, dynamic tests can also be carried out to determine the strain behaviour.

    Special designs and stretching systems

    Special requests for software design – from changes to existing software modules to the realisation of customers’ individual test specifications – are gladly accepted and implemented accordingly.

    Customised solutions with, for example, large machine widths for torso testing (personal protective equipment) or large ice clamping lengths can also be easily implemented with the module frames. In some cases, the machines are also used as stretching machines for production in addition to the testing tasks.

    The testing machine programme is rounded off by an extensive range of test specimen holders for ropes, belts, chains etc. as well as contact and non-contact strain measurement systems.

    Mobile testing machines

    Mobile testing machines offer efficient testing for chain slings, sling ropes, synthetic lifting slings and round slings. Optimised for mobile use in service vehicles, they enable maximum payload and simple operation via microcontrollers. The frame design is customisable and enables the integration of RFID transponders to identify the load handling attachments.
